Belum decide tajuk ape nak bagi....(Part 1)
The journey is gonna be fun...^^
1. I'm on the way to TruVille1 and i need to be there safely without any undesired incidents.
2. But, the only way to get there safely is by getting helps from them2
3. There are: Prof Shurender, Mr Sub Mi Sean, Brother Oby Dien, Sister Sinseriti, and Mrs Peace.
4. So, in order to ensure that I will have a safe and nice journey, i'm looking forward to meet all of them and make a close relationship with them!.
5. But somehow, I'm confused.....
"Why do I have to go to the TruVille...is that really matter?"
"Who are they and why I need to seek their help...is it important?"
"Can I seek helps from others instead of them?"

To be honest, I never meet him before, never attend any of his talk, but somehow I really wants to go....=)

I first heard this song (Both the lyric and melody) when i watch Al-Hijrah channel in TV......Amazing.....Just amazing......imagine this analogy:
The video showing millions of Muslims from around of the world, wearing in ihram in the same color, making their Tawaf, standing infront the Kaabah, with one purpose, be close with Allah. I'm just watching the video..., imagine just watch and only read the lyric, So, imagined how would be the feeling of those who are right know in Mecca? I can't find any word to describe such 'feeling'......The song has made me cry....yes....the cry to be there, the cry to be close with Allah.....the cry to be one of His guest........but I've made plenty of sins ....do i have the change to be one of your guest?
To see my muslim brothers, they may not recognize each other, but all of them exalting and worship the one True Name..As the title of the song, "Waiting for the call"...it also one of my greatest dream i want to achieve.....
"I want to reach & touch the Ka'ba, along with my family, performing umrah next year..after completing my study..ameen"
I called this as my dream statement.
A dream must be follow up with the time frame or set up the date line. Do we know what is dead line?...'If we cross the line, we're dead!!'...No, i was joking....=)
By planning, I will seriously struggling to achieve the dream. Lay out the plan to find the money (make sure it's halal), strengthen my iman & relationship with Allah (especially solat), learn and understand all the do's and don't in Hajj/Umrah...insyAllah....dream will turn into reality.

6th Artwork - Boboi Amsyar
Finally, the portrait is complete! Alhamdulillah!

I drew this portrait as a gift for my aunty Anisah (I call her busu Nisah). She has such an adorable and super cute little boy (1 year old now) (my cousin, Amsyar). So, I decided to draw a portrait as a gift for her.
Since, I’m still a student (unemployed)…heh..so the portrait is a ‘duit raya’ for my aunty.
So, I would like to share with you how I made the portrait. I believe that every portrait artist has their own way of drawing, so do i.
Basically in every portrait I made, there will be 3 steps.
1. Sketch
2. Detailed drawing
3. Final touch up (Editing + blending)
Step 1: Sketch out the form

Be precise!...that’s the rule I used in this first step. No wonder I spend 2-3 hours only for sketching…(I do take some rest…not sketching continously ). I start by sketching out the basic form of the portrait using a light pencil (HB). Light pencil lines can be easily erased when I move forward to next stage. I take a serious effort during this first step because to draw such a realistic portrait requires that key proportions are correct. I will not move into 2nd step until I'm satisfied with the sketching. Seriously it is a challenge for me..As a beginner / fresh artist in portrait drawing, so I used a grid lines (you can see in the picture) as a guide to helps me to sketch precisely (eyes, nose & mouth position).
Step 2: Detailed Drawing

The starting point in this step begins with the eyes. I used dark pencil (2B/6B/8B) for the inner part of the eyes. For me, eyes convey our expressions and inner character. It will affect the entire ‘mood’ of my drawing. For the hairs I used 8B pencil. After the eyes come the nose and the mouth. Additional detail and blending will come later (step 3).
Step 3: Final touch up

Here comes the final step of my portrait drawing. Using a tortillion (a tightly rolled piece of paper with the end softened by sand-paper) I blend the pencil/carbon to create a different tone (Very light, light, dark, very dark)…Different tones will create the depth and will affect its realistic….To be honest I'm just a "freshie" in blending technique…personally I’m not satisfied with my blending performance..still need a lot of practices. But, I have tried my best create the depth and tone.
When i compared this portrait with my previous collection, especially my first artwork, i just can't believe the differences between the two. now, i'm realized that ''To improved my skill, never stop from drawing"...keep practicing (Sketch, detailed drawing & blending)

p/s: ada perbezaan antara portret dalam bentuk softcopy (scan) & hardcopy (on paper), terutama dari segi bayang-bayang pada muka boboi amsyar ni. Normally i used my roommate's printer to scan the portrait (lebih clear), but for this artwork i just used mine. If i had the opportunity, insyaAllah...i will replace it with a better one.

Tarawih Day 5
I can't find the best word to describe how grateful I'm to be able to complete Juz 5 except to say 'Alhamdulillah'
May Allah bless all my 'Tadarrus mates'*...the Imam and others who helps to improve my recitation..
*same meaning like housemates, coursemates..etc...=)Here are some of the verses in Juz 5 that inspired me. Will try to memorize it

2. (An-nisa: 82). Quran is the Truth coming from Allah. This incredible verse states that there are no inconsistencies, contradictions, or conflicting statements in the Quran. If the Quran is made up from human, we would surely found a huge contradiction/inconsistencies in it.

3. (An-nisa:78) No one shall ever escape death, who can say that he/she will not die?? When i read this verse during taddarus, i just recite this dua in my heart 'Ya Allah, i want to die as muslim'...ameen....

4. (An-Nisa':86) Returning the Salam with a better Salam. There's a beautiful story on how the prophet explain this verse to his companions, He's a great Teacher!

This 5th Juz of Quran consist only surah An-nisa. But in this verse i've found such a great reminder about death (78), Quran is the word of Allah (82), unforgivable sins (48, 116), and wonderful advice regarding greeting in Islam (86).

Tarawih day 4
Alhamdulillah, memang satu anugerah, dapat peluang baca, improve my tajweed (correct pronunciation during recitation) & understand the two surah (Chapter) in Juz' 4. For me, it's such a great gift from Allah. It's not easy to read, and do some revision consistently a few verses in this juz.
Be close with Quran as best as we can,
especially on this Ramadan [Credit]
Some important chapters I would like to share with you in Juz' 4. Thanks to my imam who helps me to improve my Tajweed. May Allah bless him.
There are 2 chapters (surah) in this Juz' : Ali-Imran (The Family of Imran) & An-nisa (Women). Both chapters have its own message and hikmah (wisdom)
Here are some important verses that i want to highlight and remember. insyaAllah.
*To understand it better, I suggest you have the Quran Tafseer/translation as you read it.
1. (Ali-Imran: 102) A verse to remind us to have Taqwa of Allah & die as a muslim. This verse is so familiar. I'm sure. Why?..because the verse is mentioned every week during the Friday prayer. At the beginning of sermon. If you don't ever miss the sermon every week, the khatib (a person who deliver the sermon) will remind us at least 52 times!! every year....
Even in our dua, we always say it right? "Ya Allah, matikan aku dalam iman (khusnul khatimah)". How to die as a muslim? Have Taqwa of Allah (obey His commandments and abstain from His punishment).

2. (Ali Imran: 104) Share islam with other as best as we can. Be part of this special group. This verse remind me that it is my responsibility to spread the message of islam.
And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good,
enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong,
and those will be the successful.

3. (Ali Imran: 110) We (Ummah of Muhammad) are the best of peoples for the people. Because we did 3 things:
1. We enjoin what is right

3. We believe in Allah

"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind.

4. (Ali-Imran: 144). This verse is one of the most powerful reminder for me. To remind myself that Muhammad is a human. This verse was sent down to Prophet Muhammad during the battle of Uhud. This verse also remind me the story where Abu Bakr As-Sidiq recite this verse when the Messenger of Allah died. Just you imagine, is really hard for the companions to accept the death of their most beloved person in life (Muhammad). But, Abu Bakr remain calm and recite this verse to everyone. SubhanaAllah. Just imagine if you were in that situation.............
"whoever among you worshipped Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead, but whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die. Allah said: "

[Other] messengers have passed on before him..."

This verse really give an impact to each person during the day of Prophet Muhammad died, especially to Umar ibn al-Khattab.
5. (Ali-Imran: 185), I will die someday. Only Allah is alive & everlasting. So, appreciate our life.....especially in this ramadan.

An-Nisa (women):
1. (An-nisa: 3) Polygamy in Islam.
This surah is the 4th chapter of the Quran & the contents is mainly about women in Islam and their right. There are few verses that are really important to be memorized and understand.

This verse is one of the 'common selling point' used by the enemy of Islam to say that Islam degrades women. Islam oppresses women. "Why muslim men can marry 4 wives, it's not fair!".......if you would encounter such a question..how would you handled it?.....so, it is important to have a good understanding on this verse and know how to explain to others (non-muslim). Islam is the only religion that limited and stated clearly conditions on the practice of polygamy.
"And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the
orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women,
two or three or four..."
(An-nisa: 3)

* If you have this novel "Syahadah Gadis Aties" i strongly recommend that you read it & insyaAllah you will find the answer for the above question.
For juz' 4, my target is to memorize this chapter & verse. Try to understand it by read the Tafseer and seek help from others. That is the way on how to improve my knowledge toward Quran. This is my small attempt to seek Allah's pleasure. May Allah accept it. Ameen

HIJABee

This is my second attempt in designing a POSTRAIT (poster + portrait). To see my 1st postrait, you can click here. I love to try new thing. Honestly, i don't have any skill in photoshop or poster making. (Zero!)
But, i take it as a challenge for myself to make a postrait, & alhamdulillah i've made it. From zero, now at least i know how to combine my portrait and add some message.
Myth: The hijab is the scarf that covers a Muslim woman’s neck and hair.
Truth: Hijab refers to modesty in actions and dress including covering the entire body except the face and hands, wearing loose-fitting clothing that does not emphasize the woman’s figure, and is not revealing in any way.
Myth: Women who wear hijab have been forced to do so.
Truth: Wearing hijab is a decision for women, one with deep religious meaning.
Myth: Hijab only refers to women.
Truth: The Islamic perception of hijab applies to men as well referring to the way in which they conduct themselves.
Myth: Muslim women must wear hijab at all times.
Truth: Muslim women must only wear hijab when in public places and in the company of men who are not immediate family (brothers-in-law, cousins, neighbors). Muslim women can wear makeup and uncovered hair in the presence of their family and men who they cannot marry within the Islamic faith (fathers, brothers, sons, grandfathers) or at occasions where only women are present.
Myth: The hijab is a traditional Arab custom.
Truth: The practice of modesty and coveting the woman’s hair is mandated by Islam, and is a religious, not a cultural practice. Covering the hair out of modesty is seen in other religions as well - Mary is often depicted with her head covered; nuns take the habit.
What made muslim ladies wearing hijab?
A simple passage from the Qur’an that says:

I hope anyone reading this Hijabee article would get something good. From my 2 cents, those muslim ladies that wearing hijab represents a very important image and perception to our non-muslim friends. We may never see the impact our actions have on other people. Sometimes we are the only source of Islam someone will read, or the only Islam a non-muslim will see. So, i think, what we need to provide is an example for others to see. We never know who is watching our actions everyday and it does reflect the way other people see Islam & i keep telling myself,
avoid yourself from becoming a hipocyrite, 2-faces (like Dr jekyll and Mr Hyde) or split personality.

5th Artwork - Hijabee
Finally, after so many................
sketching (1st step), drawing, editing, blending (2nd step) & Final touch up (Last step)
my 5th artwork has completed. AlHamdulillah!This is my latest pencil drawing in my collection. Bila di buat postmortem from my 1st artwork sampailah collection yg ke-5 ni. Wah!...memang banyak bezanya. (Maaf, pujian untuk diri sendiri, masuk lif tekan sendiri). =)

Based on literature review terhadap buku-buku lukisan karya pelukis terkenal seperti Lee Hammond dan Darrel Tank, lakaran kasar (skecthing) sangat penting untuk mendapatkan overal picture of pencil portrait dari segi ketepatan kedudukan mata, hidung, mulut, bentuk muka....etc. Disinilah peranan garisan kotak-kotak. Step 1 ini dipanggil 'sketch' sebab kita tak perlu lukis terlalu detail & pekat, supaya mudah padam bila kita mula step ke-2.
2nd step ~ Drawing & blending
Proses melukis dengan detail (biasanya pensil 2B, 6B & 8B digunakan), dan blending (proses untuk hasilkan variasi tone yang pelbagai (cerah, sederhana cerah, gelap, sangat gelap).
Jika dalam step pertama adalah untuk ketepatan gambar yang dilukis, step ke-2 adalah untuk menjadikan lukisan itu nampak real! (sama seperti mana gambar sebenar).
Jika dalam step pertama adalah untuk ketepatan gambar yang dilukis, step ke-2 adalah untuk menjadikan lukisan itu nampak real! (sama seperti mana gambar sebenar).
Ada beberapa guideline yang di guna pakai during this 2nd step.
1. if you want to draw the teeth, don't exactly draw it. Let the gums "define" it. (Faham ke?)
2. Eyes: owh, it was really challenging! Why? sebab, mata adalah bahagian yang akan menentukan sama ada sesuatu lukisan itu nampak "real/hidup". Ketika melukis mata, tahap kesabaran anda mesti tinggi. Effect cahaya itu sangat penting.
3. Bibir/mulut: perlu pandai bermain dengan tone color. (Solid dark, medium dark, light)
4. Hidung : sama seperti No.3
